He’s just unflinchingly honest which I really appreciated. Garrett is also totally upfront with Hannah. Hannah perceives him as a egotistical jerk but he takes it in his stride and plays on it to wind her up and I loved it. Garrett is stubborn and pushy but in a really cute way. Hannah and Garrett’s banter was the highlight of the book for me. But, in the end, it was fantastic and sports didn’t feature that heavily at all. I am not really into watching or competing in sports so I thought a vast amount of this would go over my head. I picked up The Deal for the third round of the smutathon which took place last week and I don’t think I would have picked it up otherwise as it is a sports romance and I have never thought that would be my thing. He begs Hannah to tutor him and eventually she gives in as Garrett is the star hockey player at their university and he agrees to fake date her to get Justin interested. But of course, the life throws her a curve ball by the name of Garrett. Until she spots Justin in one of her classes and she finally feels excited again. It is something she has dealt with and worked through, but it has resulted in her having an unfulfilling sex life. The Deal follows Hannah who was raped when she was 15. The cover is what it is, it sets you up for a fun smutty read, but The Deal also give you more than that. Lets address the obvious right off the bat… The cover may not be the best, but trust me the contents is completely wonderful.
